Fishing report Aug. 27

Fishing reports for waters in southwest Washington, including the Columbia River and tributaries as reported to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife on Aug. 24.

Always check the WDFW website at wdfw.wa.gov/fishing for the latest fishing rules and regulations as seasons can change or close quickly if necessary.

Salmon/steelhead

Mainstem Lower Columbia River

Bonneville – 91 bank anglers with three Chinook kept, one Chinook and four steelhead released; 14 boats/31 rods with one Chinook and one Chinook jack kept, and one Chinook released.

Camas/Washougal – 35 boats/76 rods with one Chinook and two Chinook jacks kept.

Interstate-5 area – 11 boats/21 rods with three Chinook jacks released.

Vancouver – 49 bank anglers with no catch; 27 boats/51 rods with two Chinook kept.

Woodland – 126 bank anglers with 12 Chinook kept, and one Chinook released; 44 boats/94 rods with nine Chinook kept and two steelhead released.

Kalama – 435 bank anglers with 41 Chinook kept and two Chinook released; 74 boats/184 rods with 31 Chinook, one Chinook jack kept, and one Chinook released.

Cowlitz – 88 boats/221 rods with 43 Chinook and seven Chinook jacks kept.

Longview – 142 bank anglers with three Chinook and one Chinook jack kept; 153 boats/358 rods with 40 Chinook, two Chinook jacks kept, and one coho released.

Columbia River tributaries

Cowlitz River from I-5 Bridge downstream – Four boats/seven rods with no catch.

Above the I-5 Bridge – 33 bank rods with four steelhead kept and two steelhead released; 6 boats/19 rods with 22 steelhead kept.

Wind River – Two bank anglers with no catch; 3 boats/5 rods with one Chinook released.

Drano Lake – 37 boats/70 rods with 31 Chinook kept, and 10 Chinook, 11 steelhead released.

Klickitat below Fisher Hill Bridge – Six bank anglers with no catch.

Klickitat above No. 5 Fishway – Two bank anglers with no catch.

Lewis River – Three bank anglers with no catch.

Sturgeon

Woodland – One bank angler with no catch.

Longview – One boat/two rods with no catch.

Walleye

Camas/Washougal – Three boats/three rods with two walleye kept, and 3 walleye released.
