Letter: Time for change in Congress

Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler said, “I just think the government should work for the people,” but unfortunately that’s just campaign rhetoric. She consistently voted with her Republican peers to end Obamacare, proving she is committed to her party, not the people she represents. No one with any sense of compassion for her fellow citizens would threaten to remove health care from over 8 million people during a pandemic, especially when her party has no plan to replace it. How cruel to add this threat to the anxieties about illness, jobs, rent, food, and child care.

It’s definitely time for a change.
