Letter: Looking forward to future

By James Olenslager, Vancouver

My wife of 48 years has been living on lockdown at Brookfield Nursing Home in Battle Ground since April. This facility has had no deaths, and only three aides that tested positive for the virus and put in quarantine before they contaminated the facility. I want to thank them for their outstanding performance and care they have taken to combat this deadly pandemic.

Due to their diligence I hope to be able to see my wife again and celebrate many more anniversaries. My son, daughter-in-law, and nine children are planning on moving back home next year from Missouri. This will only take place if the virus is under control, and they can sell their home. I know I and everyone else in the United States are looking forward to a safe and prosperous 2021 and look forward to a more normal life as we knew prior to this disease.
