Letter: Shame on lawmakers

By Terry Viertel, Vancouver
Published: December 16, 2020, 6:00am

Shame on Reps. Cathy McMorris Rodgers and Dan Newhouse for attaching their names to the blatantly treasonous attempt by the Texas attorney general to overturn the last election. They, along with all the other representatives and senators who supported this frivolous lawsuit, should be charged with treason under the 14th Amendment of the Constitution, the one they took an oath to defend. They took the oath to defend the Constitution and the laws of the United States, not a loyalty oath to Donald Trump. What they did was treason by any measure.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
