A teen was arrested in connection with the armed carjacking of a woman Sunday in Southeast Portland, police say.

The 13-year-old was booked into a juvenile detention center on suspicion of charges including first- and second-degree robbery, according to Portland police. No injuries were reported.

Officers initially responded to the area of 30th Avenue and Bybee Boulevard at 9 p.m., police said. A woman reported two youths carjacked her at gunpoint.

She was able to get out of her car, police said, and the youths drove away.

Officers found the car shortly thereafter and briefly pursued the driver, according to police. The people inside abandoned the car and fled on foot. Officers found one of them, the 13-year-old, in the area of Southeast 33rd Avenue and Brooklyn Street.

No additional information about the carjacking has been released. Police urge witnesses to contact Detective Ken Reynolds at 503-823-0407.
