Men’s basketball

Recap of recent results

The Penguins ended an eight-game losing streak with a 92-90 win over Southwestern Oregon as Sean Johnson made the go-ahead 3-pointer with less than 4 seconds to play. The freshman from Danville, Calif., finished with 25 points and 10 rebounds. In a 72-65 loss to Mt. Hood, Union High grad Ethan Smith scored a game-high 27 points for Clark.

Scoring: Dylan Hushaw 14.1 points per game; Smith (Union HS) 13.0 ppg; Matt Garrison (King’s Way Christian HS) 10.5 ppg

Rebounding: Garrison 7.7 per game; Bradley Bickler 6.4 rpg; Zach Brown 4.7 rpg; Hushaw 4.7 rpg

Assists: Zach Rivers 2.8 per game; Kevin Robello 2.2 apg; Hushaw 1.9 apg

Women’s basketball

Record: 5-16 overall, 1-10 NWAC South

Recap of recent results

The Penguins lost at No. 7-ranked Mt. Hood 70-44, and dropped a close game at home to Southwestern Oregon 62-59. Jodi Thomasian scored 21 points and Kelso High grad Turner Joy had a season-high 18 rebounds for Clark.
