Deputies respond to bank robbery in Orchards

Clark County sheriff’s deputies responded Monday afternoon to a robbery at a Columbia Bank branch in the Orchards area.

Deputies were dispatched at 2:46 p.m. to the Columbia Bank at 7500 N.E. 117th Ave., Vancouver.

An employee reported that a man entered the bank and handed a note to a teller, according to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian. The note stated that the suspect was armed, but the employee said no weapon was displayed, according to radio traffic.

The suspect exited the bank and fled, according to radio traffic.

He was described as white with stubbly facial hair, and wearing a gray beanie, glasses and a dark-colored backpack.
