Letter: Support Long for Congress

By Gary Corbin, Camas
Published: February 25, 2020, 6:00am

Southwest Washington has a unique opportunity to send a creative problem-solver to Congress in 2020. Carolyn Long is that candidate. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Long on several occasions and have found her to be thoughtful, engaging and an excellent listener to the concerns and ideas of residents in our area. Like me, Carolyn grew up in a small town, learning the virtues of hard work, integrity and personal responsibility while working in a family business. Intelligent and committed to finding real solutions rather than engaging in partisan wrangling, Carolyn remains compassionate to the concerns of those in the community whose needs differ from her own.

I believe that Carolyn can work with members of Congress on both sides of the aisle to forge workable, common-sense solutions on key issues like health care, student loan debt, the opioid crisis and a fairer tax code that reduces our ballooning deficit while returning integrity, public trust and accountability to our federal government. Please support Carolyn Long for Congress in Washington’s 3rd District.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
