Letter: GOP decision is self-destructive

Golly, after their performance in the last debate, I thought the Democrats had formed a circular firing squad. Now I see that local Republicans are engaging in the same sort of self-destructive behavior. The GOP’s invitation to Rep. Matt Shea, R-Spokane Valley, to be the emcee for a major Republican fundraiser is a case of “ready, fire, aim.” Shea is accused of being a domestic terrorist and is shunned even by his own caucus in Olympia.

Clark County Republican leadership seemed unfazed by the 108-page investigative report filed with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the FBI which could lead to criminal charges against Shea. Maybe there is a pattern going on here, while Democrats appear to be unorganized in their activities, Republicans appear to be organized to allow potential criminal activity to fester.
