The truth will set you free, but first it will make you miserable. President Trump’s entire worldview is one big nut-job conspiracy theory. Some of Donald’s conspiracy theories are dangerous goofball claims: that climate change is a Chinese hoax and voter fraud in the 2016 election cost him the popular vote. But some of his wacky theories are weaponized: that President Obama wiretapped Trump Tower and Muslims in New Jersey were cheering after 9/11.
More important, Trump has weaponized the singular belief that almost the entire planet is engaged in one enormous conspiracy against him. The list of suspects is immense and starts with the fake news and the so-called deep state.
Few conspiracy theories have ever been too wacky to escape the Donald, and now they thrive in Ukraine. He pushed the nutty theory that Clinton’s deleted emails are in Ukraine. He promoted the screwball Russian propaganda theory that Ukraine, instead of Russia, interfered in our 2016 election. Now our conspiracy theorist in chief is talking up the sinister, unfounded and debunked conspiracy about Joe Biden’s alleged wrongdoing in Ukraine.
The truth will set you free, unless you let President Trump defile the meaning of truth.
