Letter: Trump economy is winning

By Stacy Walters, Vancouver

Today I am more certain that I will vote for Trump in 2020. Many of my friends and family think he’s terrible and ask me why. Let’s put aside the fact that Trump is against abortion, fervently supports our troops and first-responders, wants to secure the integrity of our borders and maintain our sovereignty as a nation, and strongly supports the nation of Israel, all of which I believe are good.

Yes, he is crass, frequently insensitive, very boastful and proud. But this is the first Christmas I can remember, as an adult, where I have not needed to put a single gift on a credit card. In fact, I have been able to save more in the past year than in the past 10 years and I’ve reduced my credit debt significantly.

I’ve been willing to change my mind, but no plausible or viable alternate has yet been presented. I can’t vote for any of the other candidates when they simply can’t present a cohesive message aligned with my personal values or that gives me any confidence in their ability to sustain this strong economy. That’s why I am voting for Trump in 2020. I encourage you to do the same.
