WOODLAND 66, R.A. LONG 57 — The Beavers overcame an eight-point third-quarter deficit to earn the 2A Greater St. Helens League victory. Payten Foster scored 17 of her game-high 23 points in the second half to lead the comeback.
“We got out-coached and out-played in the first half,” Woodland coach Glen Flanagan said. “The girls decided to play ball.”
Foster added 12 rebounds and five steals, Nicole Guthrie finished with 15 points, seven rebounds and four assists and Kaily Christensen went 3 of 7 from beyond the arc to finish with 11 points for Woodland (7-2, 1-0).
Miranda Lomax (17 points) and Makayla Jenkins (14) paced the Lumberjills (5-5, 1-1)
