Girls basketball: La Center 56, Castle Rock 20

Kylee Stephens had 21 points and eight assists and Mia Edwards added 14 points as the Wildcats move to 2-0 in the 1A Trico League.

La Center jumped out to a 20-8 first-quarter lead on their way to holding the Rockets to 12 points the final three quarters.

Gianna D’Emilio added four points, four steals and seven rebounds and Natasha Lewis, who recently signed a letter of intent for cross country and track and field with Johns Hopkins University, had four assists and four rebounds along with her two points.
