Sing Here Now welcomes people with early-stage Alzheimer’s or dementia to join this Vancouver choir, which meets from 10:30 a.m. to noon Feb. 6, 13, 20, 27, March 5 and 12. Vancouver Community Concert Band seeks brass, woodwind and percussion players, active or retired. All abilities welcome; no audition required. The Society of Washington Artists seeks artists 18 and older to enter the nonjuried, professionally judged Spring Show and Sale (the largest such show in Southwest Washington), April 30 to May 3 at the Water Resources Education Center, 4600 S.E. Columbia Way, Vancouver. Online registration begins Feb. 10 and continues until April 17 or until 200 pieces have been registered. Both 2D and 3D items may be entered. Mosaic Arts Alliance seeks submissions for “Celebration of the Female Form,” Feb. 4-28 at Angst Gallery, 1015 Main St., Vancouver, with an opening reception 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 7. The show will include depictions and interpretations of the female form clothed, unclothed, realistic or abstract in various media. Artists may submit up to two pieces by Feb. 2. The entry fee for Mosaic Arts Alliance members is $35 and $45 for nonmembers. Pieces larger than 36″ x 36″ will incur additional fees. Vancouver Community Library invites creative writers and visual artists to submit original works for “Visions & Voices,” and then to create a response piece to the original work assigned to them. The submission deadline is Feb. 28. There is no cost to submit. Written work may be submitted to vaartteam@fvrl.org, or in person at the library, 901 C St., Vancouver. Art pieces must be submitted at the library. Participants will be notified of acceptance by email, and their response piece will also be sent through email. The city of Vancouver invites artists to submit proposals for public art at the Clark County Historical Museum, 1511 Main St., Vancouver. Proposals are due by 3 p.m. Feb. 26. The project’s goal is to create something that demonstrates the museum’s relevance while respecting its commitment to preserving the community’s stories and artifacts. Proposals will be reviewed by the city’s Public Art Committee, in consultation with the museum and the Uptown Village Association. Once a proposal is selected, artwork will be completed and installed within six months. The project’s budget is set at $30,000, including artist’s fees, engineering fees, labor and materials, documentation and transportation to the site. Vancouver’s Downtown Association seeks artists to submit proposals for two funded projects that are slated for 2020. “12th & Main Artlet” will install a parklet with artful treatments at a downtown intersection, along with painted crosswalks and bulb-outs and the artful treatment of the blank facade of an adjacent parking structure. “Bike Art Park on Main” will install two bike corrals on Main Street. The bike racks will be custom-designed and incorporate artistic features that celebrate architectural designs from local, historic buildings as well as cultural icons of downtown Vancouver, along with street art murals beneath the corrals. Submissions must be received by noon Feb. 10. Submissions should be clearly marked with the name and address of the respondent.
