Each summer Meals on Wheels People seeks fans for homebound seniors in the Portland-Vancouver area who are struggling to keep cool in homes without air conditioning.

With impending high temperatures expected to exceed 90 degrees, the nonprofit is asking for donations of new or gently used fans. They can be brought to the central office at 7710 S.W. 31st Ave. in Portland between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Visit mowp.org or call 503-736-6325 for the hours and locations of dining centers that may be able to accept fan donations.
