MINNEHAHA — Long-awaited construction on a parking lot and sidewalk at the no-kill cat shelter Furry Friends recently began. The nonprofit had waited more than three years for the project to start. Glen Aronson, of Iron Gate Storage, donated $20,000 to the project last year and another $20,000 this year. Dr. Virginia Huang of Salmon Creek Plastic Surgery also committed to a donation. Jonathan Christopher of Christopher’s Custom Concrete is completing the job, which is expected to take 10 weeks. “We sincerely appreciate these big financial donations. We still had to take a loan out to finance the rest of the parking lot project,” a newsletter said. “This has been way more expensive than we could have imagined.”
