Letter: Trump shows cowardice

Donald J. Trump is running scared. His poll numbers are low and he is afraid that he will lose the election. So, he is trying to improve his image by sending secret police to Portland and Chicago, against the wishes of local officials. He thinks this will make himself look tough. However, these thugs were not properly trained and committed unconstitutional acts against peaceful protesters. This has backfired against our cowardly president.

His cowardice has also been on full display in his terrible handling of COVID-19. At first, Trump was in denial about the coronavirus, then he downplayed its severity. Finally, he ran away and passed the buck to the states. Harry Truman must be turning over in his grave. He knew the buck stops with the president of the United States.

So, what will our president do next before the November election? I believe there is nothing that he would not try, no matter how horrible, to win the election. After all, nothing else matters to our fearful president.
