Letter: Don’t be stupid, wear a mask

Did you ever have a surgical or dental procedure? Did the health care provider wear a mask and gloves? Could it be because they didn’t want to cause an infection?

So why do you protesters think that it is acceptable not to wear masks? Yes, you have rights, but your rights end at your lips and the tip of your nose. You do not have the right to spit, cough, sneeze or even breathe on anyone else.

Unless you wear a mask, these actions should be considered assault with a deadly weapon. If you have the coronavirus and transmit it to someone, that is attempted murder; if they die, it is murder. Hopefully it can be traced back to you and the appropriate punishment of life in prison be administered. And you complain about quarantine!

Still refuse to wear a mask? Just make sure that your health care providers are aware that you don’t believe in masks so that they don’t waste personal protective apparel when you are on the surgical table. And that nurse that you spit on at the protest, maybe she will exercise her right not to wear a mask while caring for you.

Don’t be stupid. Wear a mask.
