Garth Mattson is building a golf program at Westside Driving Range in Salmon Creek.

A PGA member for 32 years, Mattson said he has returned to his roots as he develops the Westside Golf Academy.

“Our focus is giving all aspects of a Country Club experience when it comes to teaching, use of V1 Sport video lessons, club fitting, reshafting, club and putter loft and lie adjustments and a total regrip service,” Mattson said. “All aspects to help folks enjoy the game.”

Located at 14205 N.E. 3rd Court in Vancouver, Westside Driving Range will be offering three-day junior golf clinics beginning this week (June 22-24) from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. for ages 8-16. Cost is $150. Three more junior clinics are scheduled for July 6-8, July 20-22 and Aug. 4-6.

The range also offers family and individual lessons taught by Mattson and John Gailey. Every Tuesday is Ladies Night with 90 minute clinics, which is already proving to be very popular.
