Letter: Masks should be required

By Martha Mapp, Vancouver

Sunday I took a drive around city center, the riverfront area and the farmers market. I saw few people wearing masks. It seems to me that people in Vancouver are not taking COVID-19 seriously. There needs to be a mandate to require masks in public, because people in Clark County are proving they cannot be trusted to do the right thing. I would like to see The Columbian report on mask use (and the lack of). We are not going to beat this virus unless the majority of people wear a mask. I will be sending this same message to Gov. Inslee.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
