My Place Hotels will hold a groundbreaking ceremony at 1 p.m. today where a hotel is planned near Vancouver Mall. The hotel, 8300 N.E. Vancouver Mall Loop, will be the fourth My Place hotel in Washington.

The My Place brand emphasizes modern design, modest pricing and an emphasis on long-term stays in addition to overnights. The company was co-founded by Ron Rivett, who co-founded the Super 8 Motel brand, and his grandson Ryan Rivett.

The first My Place hotel opened in North Dakota in 2012, and the company now operates more than 50 hotels across 25 states. The Vancouver location is one of more than a dozen additional My Place hotels in the works, according to the company’s website.

Vancouver Mall does not own property on the outside of Vancouver Mall Loop and is not involved in the project.
