Letter: Other crises persist

By Den Mark Wichar, Vancouver

COVID-19 is not the only threat to our community and country and world. Endless war is another. Endless hunger is another. Endless thirst is another. Endless racism is another. Endless ignorance is another. And of course, climate change is definitely another. Scientific intelligence and loving justice should cause responses to all threats with equal determination, equal urgency, equal concern as shown toward the new virus. It shouldn’t take a virus to wake us up. We should not be asleep in the first place.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
