Letter: Choose Jesus, trust Trump

According to a recent opinion in the letters section of the newspaper, we must choose between President Trump and Jesus Christ (“Trump is not Christlike,” Our Readers’ Views, March 3). Huh?

Donald Trump is authentic, brash and loves stirring the pot. His prevarications can be quite humorous. He supports Christianity, a foundation of this nation. He is not without sin and neither are hypocrites that curse his name.

Jesus Christ, however, is perfect. If he was campaigning it would be against a policy of killing his Father’s children. President Trump stands with these innocent lives and our God-given rights. Democrats effectively filibustered a “born alive” bill in the U.S. Senate last year. It would have provided medical care to any baby that survives a failed abortion and is born alive (human by leftist standards). These intolerant lawmakers will allow this crying baby to die helplessly alone and naked to the world. Will they bother to provide a blanket? Today’s party of coldheartedness only cares about themselves. No innocent child will keep these bullies from achieving their selfish goals of ultimate power.

I always choose Jesus first. I trust the president. If Democrats have no respect for life, how can we trust them with America’s soul?
