CARTER PARK — Some Vancouver neighborhoods have worked to find ways to be social without being physically close. The Carter Park Neighborhood Association held a two-hour Porch Party on the evening of March 22. “Enjoy dinner, happy hour, whatever with your neighbors just at a very safe distance from each other on each of our own front porches, lawns or gardens,” an announcement read. “All social distancing guidance applies. No mingling, just merriment! Play music, drink some wine, eat good food.” Residents put out lawn chairs and even set up nice dining areas on their porches. “It was a great way for our community to come together without actually being together,” said Chris Dickinsen, chair of the neighborhood association.
