Clark County up to 415 confirmed COVID-19 casesFree

Clark County Public Health confirmed three new COVID-19 cases, and no new deaths Wednesday morning.

The county had six new cases Tuesday, and five new cases Monday. At least 7,683 people have been tested in Clark County.

On Tuesday, Clark County was approved to apply for a variance to move into the second phase of the state’s COVID-19 recovery plan. Barbershops, tattoo parlors, restaurants and many other business could reopen under Phase 2 with certain precautions in place.

The application process was discussed at Wednesday’s Clark County Board of Health meeting. Clark County Public Health is compiling information for the application. Once finalized, the Clark County Board of Health will approve the application, then the Clark County Council will approve it.

Once it’s approved at the county level, the application will be submitted to the state Department of Health for review. The council expressed a desire to submit the application by early next week, if not sooner.

There are five people hospitalized for the virus in Clark County, and two people in an intensive care unit. Seventy-three cases are associated with Clark County long-term care facilities.

Washington has 18,811 confirmed coronavirus cases, and 1,031 deaths. At least 293,120 people have been tested statewide, with 6.4 percent of test coming back positive.
