Letter: Let people weigh risks of virus

I can’t take it anymore. I see hundreds of people shopping at Costco, Walmart, Target, Home Depot, etc., and I can’t go to a barbershop to get a haircut. My wife and I can’t go to church or go to a movie or have dinner at a restaurant.

Washington had the first COVID-19 case in the country. Why is Clark County still in Phase 1 of our recovery? Don’t these bureaucrats understand that each day of delay is critical to small businesses who are seeing their resources disappear?

Children and young people have a low risk of getting this virus. Older people are more susceptible to infection. Doctors now say that being in close and extended contact with someone who has COVID-19 is how most people get infected. The reason for this shutdown was supposed to be so that our medical services would not be overwhelmed. Now hospitals are in financial trouble because of low hospitalizations.

It’s time for people to decide for themselves what risks they are willing to take in their normal lives. We need our constitutional rights back. It is time to end this madness now.
