The beginning of November graced itself with sunshine and mild temperatures rather than rain and wind. Don’t be fooled, however, the rain is back today and the rest of the week. And those above-normal temperatures will be gone by the weekend too. Will we have 60-degree weather again in November once it turns cool and wet?
Monday we had a high of 67 degrees, if you can believe that. The record was 70 degrees back in 1969. The morning low Monday was 34 degrees, a far cry from the record low of 18 degrees set in 1935. And yes, some local areas had frost early Monday.
The rain today will be intermittent, maybe a quarter-inch or so with lingering showers Wednesday. The storm arriving Thursday brings a good deal of moisture from the southwest with it. Maybe an inch or two of rain here in the county. Showers end Friday. A colder air mass arrives over the weekend and if we are lucky, little if any moisture. Snow levels will be down to our foothills, which could get a flurry or two. Highs are forecast to remain in the 40s.
Snow will fall late in the week in the Cascades, however the bulk of the moisture will be over. At least a dusting or an inch or two at pass levels. Cool weather remains for next week.
