ESTHER SHORT — Faith leaders in Clark County and beyond called for peace ahead of the Nov. 3 election at a small gathering on Nov. 2 at Esther Short Park. “There were approximately 14 people from different faith communities — Muslim, Jewish, Catholic, Baha’i, Lutheran, United Methodist, Quaker, Unitarian, United Church of Christ — offering prayers for peace and healing for our country ahead of Tuesday’s election,” said Kristen Caldwell, communications manager for the Oregon-Idaho Conference of United Methodist Church, based in Portland. Rev. Susan Boegli, of Battle Ground Community United Methodist Church, encouraged church attendees to walk to the end of their driveways, hold a candle and pray for peace.
