Letter: Not much to like about Trump

By Elizabeth Nettleton, Vancouver
Published: October 2, 2020, 6:00am

To all you one-issue voters out there, if reversing Roe v. Wade is your overwhelming reason for supporting Trump, why are you still supporting him? You got your wish. He has nominated a justice almost certain to overturn Roe v. Wade and Obamacare.

What other policies that he supports are you for? Are you for his racism, his divisiveness, his disdain for the poor, his cruel immigration policies, his disregard for our principles of democracy, his repeated lies about the severity of COVID-19 leading to the loss of tens of thousands of American lives, his attitude toward American military as suckers and losers, his willingness to sacrifice our environment to the fossil fuel industry for temporary profits? Or do you admire his personal character and business acumen? Really? I don’t understand.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
