Letter: Trump’s action irresponsible

I feel our president’s arrogance is exceeded only by his ego. Instead of supporting the medical advice of doctors who say wearing a mask may be the best line of defense at this time against COVID-19, the president defiantly removed his mask after returning from Walter Reed Hospital and told the nation “don’t be afraid” of this virus. His action was like a rallying cry to his supporters who feel their rights are being violated by wearing a mask in public and a statement to the world that he is large, in charge and invincible.

His action and response is also an indication of how insensitive he is to the hundreds of thousands of people who know how deadly this virus has been and the impact it’s had on our nation’s health and economy. His wife and aides in his inner circle have been diagnosed with COVID-19. But our president feels good and that’s the only thing important to him.
