This is in response to “Leave sex education to parents” (Our Readers’ Views, Oct. 14). Daphne Kivinen says that if Referendum 90 passes, it would “interfere in the raising of other families’ children. They are not yours to raise.” However, she wants to take other parents’ freedom away by removing our choice to have updated sex education. R-90 clearly states that parents can opt their kids out of participating. R-90 is not “specialized,” it is endorsed by more than 100 medical, education, and sexual assault prevention groups. Please approve Referendum 90, and give us the freedom and choice to teach our kids properly.
