Letter: Reject Mielke ploy, support Rivers

It looks like the “M and M” boys are at it again. David Madore and Tom Mielke are back in the news as Madore has talked his stooge, Mielke, into running for the state Senate. They, along with some other high-powered folks in the county, feel that incumbent Ann Rivers does not rise to their standards of being a true Republican. The twist is that they don’t really believe that Mielke can win, but they’ll be happy if all they do is split Republican votes, which would lead to the Democratic candidate winning.

I know, I know. This makes no sense whatsoever and one may feel that it sounds more like a personal vendetta than a divide over ideals. Their bizarre reasoning is that at least they’d know what to expect from the Democrat. The logic makes my head hurt.

Madore and Mielke were failures as county councilors. Their tenure was full of hubris and goofy hijinks like this. Don’t let them wriggle into this election and try to diminish the chances of Ann Rivers.
