A total of 144,569 ballots have been received in the 10 days since ballots were mailed out, according to figures posted by the Clark County Elections office Monday morning.

A surge in voter registration among county residents this election cycle continued as well, with the total at 322,269.

The current turnout is at 44.86 percent in Clark County.

In the same stretch before the November 2016 general election, the number of ballots cast — 70,927 — was less than half of this year’s current totals. In all, 272,698 people were registered to vote in that election.

Monday was the deadline to register via mail or online to vote. In-person registration is still available at the elections office, 1408 Franklin St. in Vancouver, until 8 p.m. on Election Day.
