Letter: Support James for council

By Phillip Englund, Vancouver
Published: October 31, 2020, 6:00am

Many of us have already cast our ballots by now, but in case you haven’t, please vote to put Jesse James on the Clark County Council. We desperately need a local champion of sustainability and equitability like Jesse to help lead us toward climate and racial justice — he has a substantive, positive vision for the future of this community. Furthermore, I know him personally as a good and deeply ethical person: despising corruption, he lost the endorsement of a powerful special interest because he wouldn’t take their money. That kind of refusal is extraordinary. It shouldn’t be. Vote Jesse James!

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
