Clark County announced Tuesday that it has partnered with the city of Vancouver and Mercy Corps Northwest to distribute grants ranging from $2,500 to $10,000 as part of a new small business relief program.

The grants will go to business owners and entrepreneurs with low to moderate income who have five or fewer employees and are facing economic hardship due amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Application and additional information are available at mercycorpsnw.org/clarkcounty.

Applications will be accepted starting Sept. 8, according to a press release from the county. The grants are scheduled to be distributed before the end of October to between 150 and 300 applicants.

Funding for the grants was approved by the city and county councils and supplied by their Community Development Block Grant programs, as well as the U.S. Treasury’s Coronavirus Relief Fund through the Washington State Department of Commerce, according to the press release.
