Letter: Don’t cheat us out of election

By Mike Johnson, Vancouver

I guess we all knew it would come to this. President Trump has begun in earnest his efforts to cheat the American people out of a fair and free election. Just as he has cheated so many American citizens out of their hard-earned money (how many lawsuits?), just as he cheated to dodge the draft and cheated on his college entrance exams and cheated on his numerous wives. The most basic American freedom, to vote fairly and freely, is now under attack by Trump. How do his worshippers, like U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, who profess to love the Constitution and flag, sit idly or even defend Trump’s actions and words to cheat our democratic elections?

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
