SEATTLE — A Washington state sheriff’s deputy suffered a stroke while on patrol last month and his cruiser hit a parked car, killing the woman inside it. The deputy has now died, The Seattle Times reported.
The victims in the Aug. 29 crash were King County Sheriff’s Deputy Reginald “Reggie” Thomas, 56, and attorney Sarah Leyrer, 41.
Leyrer suffered a blunt-force injury to her head and died at the scene. Thomas was removed from his vehicle and taken to a hospital, where his condition worsened.
He was put into a medically induced coma and his family members were told he would never talk or walk again. He died on Monday.
