Letter: Slow down global warming

I cannot simply go outside for a walk and I live with my windows shut, breathing dusty air. A lot of others have evacuated their homes. For those who are affected, the forest fires have been making life a little more inconvenient.

A friend was telling me how he doesn’t understand why the West Coast could all be on fire at the same exact time. He was saying that humans must be the main reason for the fires.

I was pondering what he said, but then I quickly remembered that forest fires are happening because of global warming. Global warming has been an issue that people have been talking about for years. It’s been a topic that some believe is made up and others keep putting aside. As humans who are sharing this earth, we need to care for our planet by trying to slow down global warming. If we want our kids, grandchildren and the generations after to live in a healthy environment, we must begin to make change.
