Letter: Candidate is not qualified

Loren Culp, the Republican candidate for governor in Washington, claims to be running on his qualifications.

The candidate is the police chief of Republic, a remote mountain town of only 1,100 residents. The title of police chief is somewhat misleading, since he is the only sworn officer working for the town. By contrast, Washington has a population of more than 7.6 million and over 64,000 state employees.

Never has a seeker for the most important job in the state been less qualified for the job.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
