Letter: Deny permit for Kalama plant

By Mern Baker Blagg, Vancouver
Published: September 29, 2020, 6:00am

Our world, country and state do not need an increase in hazardous pollutants. Healthy and clean air is what we all strive for, and the Kalama Manufacturing and Marine Export Facility would reduce the air quality to a devastating level. We are at a critical point in the climate crisis. Please stop denying the crisis and work on sustainable clean and healthy alternatives for embracing growth and economic prosperity. As a concerned gramma, born in Kelso, living in Vancouver, with two sons and their families living in Longview, I implore you to deny the permit for this project to move forward.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
