Vancouver Public Schools announces personnel changes

Staffing moves to prepare for 2021-22 school year, two new schools opening in fall

Vancouver Public Schools has announced a series of personnel assignments for the 2021-22 school year. The changes will take effect in July, upon approval by the Vancouver Public Schools Board of Directors.

The changes include moves made in preparation for the fall 2022 opening of two new elementary schools: the Vancouver Innovation, Technology and Arts Elementary School under construction at 1111 Fort Vancouver Way and a neighborhood school at Northeast 25th Avenue and 88th Street.

Jennifer Blechschmidt, principal at Eisenhower Elementary School, will oversee program development and hiring for both schools during the 2021-22 school year.

In other staffing moves reported Monday:

Anderson Elementary School

  • Principal: Brent Harrison Bardo from Harmony Public Schools in Houston, where he has served as an elementary principal, teacher, intervention specialist and director of academics.
  • Associate principal: Denisse Barba, who is currently a middle school assistant principal in the North Clackamas School District in Oregon. Barba was a dual language teacher at Anderson for five years before taking a position in North Clackamas.
  • Associate principal: Kevin Coffey, who is dean of students at Anderson Elementary School; Coffey will serve as associate principal at both Anderson and Sacajawea elementary schools.

Chinook Elementary School

  • Associate principal: Amos (AJ) Brown, who is currently an elementary associate principal at Federal Way School District. He previously served in Vancouver Public Schools as a math teacher and dean of students at Gaiser Middle School.

Eisenhower Elementary School

  • Principal: Craig Homnick, who is now principal at Lincoln Elementary School.

Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School

  • Associate principal: Dana Re-Bloom, who is currently a teacher on special assignment and administrative intern in the Clover Park School District.

Lake Shore Elementary School

  • Principal: Anna Supplee, currently associate principal at Anderson Elementary School, will take the lead at Lake Shore following the resignation of Starlett Stone at the end of the school year.

Lincoln Elementary School

  • Principal: Steve Lindblom, who is currently principal at Vancouver Flex Academy.

Roosevelt Elementary School

  • Principal: Jill MacKenzie, who is currently associate principal at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School.

Sacajawea Elementary School

  • Associate principal: Kevin Coffey, dean of students at Anderson Elementary School; he will serve as associate principal at both Anderson and Sacajawea elementary schools.

Truman Elementary School

  • Principal: Lee Gunter, who is currently associate principal at Truman Elementary School.
  • Associate principal: Connie Hogan, who is currently associate principal at Anderson and Sacajawea elementary schools.

Walnut Grove Elementary School

  • Principal: Katie Arkoosh, who is currently principal at Anderson Elementary School.
  • Associate principal: Jody ViDelco, who is currently principal at Jason Lee Middle School.

Gaiser Middle School

  • Principal: Esteban Delgadillo, who is currently principal at Walnut Grove Elementary School.
  • Associate principal: Katherine Howard, currently a middle school associate principal in the North Clackamas School District in Oregon; she will take the associate position following the retirement of Sheri Backous.

Jason Lee Middle School

  • Principal: Megan Vickery, who is currently principal at Roosevelt Elementary School.

Vancouver Flex Academy

  • Principal: Abby Davis, who is currently principal at Gaiser Middle School.

Lieser Campus

  • Associate principal: Kathleen Paradis, currently the dean of students at Fort Vancouver High School; she will take the associate principal position following the retirement of Anita Chase.

Jim Parsley Center

  • Executive director for teaching and learning: Kristie Lindholm, currently the senior director in the Office of School Improvement at Portland Public Schools, was named executive director for teaching and learning following the announced retirement of Debra Hale in June.
  • Director of IT infrastructure and operations: Trevor Dodson, who was previously the senior director of IT infrastructure and operations at Lewis and Clark College in Portland. His employment was approved at the April 13 school board meeting.
