Fishing reports for waters in southwest Washington, including the Columbia River and tributaries as reported to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife on Aug. 11.

Columbia River mainstem

Sturgeon

Columbia River: Buoy 10 upstream to the Wauna Powerlines near Cathlamet including adjacent tributaries — Catch and release fishing only. Fishing for sturgeon at night is closed.

Columbia River: From Wauna Powerlines upstream to Bonneville Dam including the Cowlitz River — Effective Saturdays, Sept. 11 and Sept. 18, 2021 only, the daily limit will be one, with annual limit of two. Retained fish must measure between 44- and 50-inches fork length. Fishing for sturgeon at night is closed. Retention of green sturgeon is prohibited.

Columbia River: From Bonneville Dam upstream to McNary Dam including adjacent tributaries — Catch and release fishing only, except closed within spawning sanctuaries as specified in permanent regulations. Fishing for sturgeon at night is closed.

Salmon/Steelhead

Bonneville — 11 bank anglers had no catch; two boats/four rods had no catch.

Camas/Washougal — Three boats/eight rods had no catch.

Interstate 5 area — Nine bank anglers had no catch.

Vancouver — 49 bank anglers kept one Chinook and released one steelhead; 18 boats/32 rods had no catch.

Woodland — 14 bank anglers had no catch; 16 boats/26 rods kept two Chinook and released one steelhead.

Kalama — 66 bank anglers kept two Chinook; nine boats/21 rods kept one Chinook.

Cowlitz — 14 boats/40 rods kept two Chinook one jack and released four steelhead.

Longview — 21 bank anglers had no catch; six boats/12 rods had no catch.

Cathlamet (Sec. 9) — Two bank anglers had no catch; two boats/two rods had no catch.

Cathlamet (Sec. 10) — Two boats/five rods had no catch.

Sturgeon

Vancouver — Two boats/five rods had no catch.

Kalama — One boat/two rods released 10 sublegal, five legal, and two oversize sturgeon.

Walleye

Camas/Washougal — Two boats/five rods had no catch.

Columbia River tributaries

Salmon/Steelhead

Cowlitz River from Interstate-5 Bridge downstream — No report.

Cowlitz River above the I-5 Bridge — No report.

Kalama River — Five bank rods had no catch.

Lewis River — 15 bank rods had no catch; three boats/six rods kept one steelhead.

Drano Lake — Three bank rods released one steelhead; 29 boats/66 rods kept eight Chinook, two jacks and released seven steelhead.

Klickitat River below Fisher Hill Bridge — No report.

Klickitat above No. 5 Fishway — No report.

Recent trout plants

Mayfield Reservoir, Aug. 4 — 2,440 rainbow, 1.22 fish per pound, from Eels Springs Hatchery.
