Clark Public Utilities is here to help customers save energy and live comfortably all year long. That’s why we offer several money-saving rebates, incentives and low interest loans to customers with electrically heated homes to help make home improvement more affordable for all homeowners.

Looking to make your home more energy efficient, but not sure where to begin? Here is a quick look at some of our most popular programs and the rebates they offer.

Weatherizing a home is all about fortifying your living space against the elements and making the most of every dollar you spend on heating and cooling. Thin insulation, metal-framed windows and tiny air leaks all constantly work to let the outdoor unconditioned air into your home.

Weatherizing keeps the outside where it belongs and ensures your home is efficient as possible. Clark Public Utilities offers generous rebates and loans to help customers pay for the costs of home weatherization.

Insulation is one of the most cost-effective efficiency measures a person can add to an older home. Clark Public Utilities can help you save when you improve yours. Whether you’re adding it to your attic, floors or walls, we’ll offer you $0.40, $0.50 or $1.20, respectively per square foot.

Looking to replace windows? We offer rebates of $6 per square foot for qualifying double pane windows and $8 per square foot for qualifying triple pane.

There are also incentives for air sealing leaks throughout the home, exterior door replacements and more.

Replacing an older electric heating system with a heat pump or ductless heat pump (mini-split) will help you save energy and live comfortably for years to come. We realize that installing a new heating system can be too much to take on at once for many people, that’s why we’re willing to loan qualifying homeowners 100 percent of the cost of a new system. Whether you’re purchasing yours outright or financing it, we also have many incentives that can bring down the final costs. You may qualify for a rebate of between $300 and $2,000, depending on the efficiency rating and your existing heating method.

“The heat pump and ductless heat pump programs are the most popular of our rebate programs and for good reason,” said Energy Services Supervisor DuWayne Dunham. “It’s hard to overstate just how much better they perform than an electric furnace or zonal heating system — not to mention they offer air conditioning, which comes in really handy this time of year.”

Heating and cooling make up the largest portion of a home’s energy bill. While there are many ways to cut costs, installing a smart thermostat can reduce energy waste and keep your home comfortable all year long. Clark Public Utilities customers with an electric heat system may qualify for the $50 smart thermostat rebate. Customers with gas furnaces may qualify for a rebate through the Energy Trust.

Believe it or not, your water heater is usually the second biggest energy consumer inside your home. But you can substantially reduce the amount of electricity your tank uses when you upgrade to a heat pump water heater.

Most heat pump water heaters are two or three times more efficient than traditional electric water heaters, and have lower operating costs. We currently offer up to a $500 rebate for qualifying heat pump water heater replacements.

Looking to replace the family gas guzzler with an electric vehicle? We’ve got you covered—whether you’re on a limited income looking for a used EV or you’re planning to install a fast charger.

All of our rebate, incentive and loan programs have unique qualifications and requirements that must be met before funds are distributed. If you’d like to learn more about our many program offers and if you may qualify, visit our website or ask the energy counselor of the day during business hour, Monday through Friday at 360-992-335 or Ecod@clarkpud.com
