CASA, or Court Appointed Special Advocate, seeks volunteers to advocate for the best interest of children who have come into the state’s care as a result of abuse, neglect or abandonment. Volunteers are empowered to represent a child’s voice in court after extensive training that prepares them for the role. Community members ready to learn about volunteer opportunities should join a one-hour information session. Schedules and registration links are available at casaclarkcounty.org.

Friends of the Historic Columbia River Highway seeks volunteers for the Gorge Ride cycling event on Aug. 28. People who volunteer for registration or parking can ride for free after completing their shift at 10 a.m. For more information, visit www.GorgeRide.com.
