I support Bi-Zi Farms because the history of the Zimmerman family in Clark County on 119th Street goes back before I was born in the 1940s.
My father and his brothers were friends of the Zimmerman family. It had to be before the mid-1930s. I can’t be positive of the actual year, but he told me of spending time at their home as a young man. Also, my father grew up a little east of them on 119th Street.
The intent of this letter is to show the longevity of the Zimmerman family owning this land. I agree that they should be grandfathered in without having to go through this insane government bureaucracy. Washington state administrators need to clean up their own house first before picking on a thriving family business, especially one that is growing healthy locally grown food.
It’s my understanding that there are other businesses involved in this water rights challenge and that they all filed for water rights over a decade ago and the state just sat on the documents and did nothing. So as I said, clean your own house first.
