Letter: Trump should pay for interference

Donald Trump’s post-election conduct in Georgia puts him at substantial risk of possible state charges, including racketeering, election fraud solicitation, intentional interference with performance of election duties and conspiracy to commit election fraud.

So says a 114-page analysis of potential issues released last month by The Brookings Institution, specifically referencing Trump’s January 2021 phone call to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, urging him to “find 11,780 votes,” enough to reverse the state’s election result.

In most civilized nations, any elected official who acted as Donald Trump did would have found himself arrested, charged, and perhaps even sentenced to prison by now.

When will the rusty wheels of our justice system begin to function?
