Prep Roundup: Quinn’s big game leads King’s Way girls past Woodland

Laurel Quinn had a career-high 34 points along with 22 rebounds to lead King’s Way Christian past Woodland 58-45 on Monday.

Quinn made three 3-pointers and went 9 for 11 at the free throw line. Her younger sister Bridget Quinn added 15 points as the visiting Knights improved to 4-1 with the non-league win.

Abbie Huston had 14 points and 10 rebounds for Woodland (2-5).

King’s Way outscored Woodland 17-6 in the second quarter to lead 28-18 at halftime.

Girls basketball

SETON CATHOLIC 49, CENTRALIA 41 — Maddie Willis scored 12 of her 24 points in the third quarter as the Cougars handed Centralia its first loss of the season.

After Seton Catholic built a 25-17 halftime lead, Willis scored all of her team’s points in the third quarter to keep Centralia (5-1) at bay.

Cami Price had 13 rebounds for Seton, which improved to 5-2 with the non-leauge home win.

Boys basketball

WINTER HAVEN (Fla.) 60, UNION 55 — Yanni Fassillis had 28 points and 12 rebounds for the Titans at the Auburn Hardwood Invite.

Union fell to 0-2 in the inaugural tournament, which gathers national-level competition. The Titans fell to Seattle powerhouse Garfield 95-50 on Sunday.

JESUIT (Ore.) 61, SKYVIEW 36 — Demaree Collins scored 10 points as the Storm fell in a non-league game in Beaverton, Ore.

KALAMA 59, PRAIRIE 53 — Jackson Esary scored 13 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter to rally the Chinooks (2-2) to a home win.

Prairie led 44-40 after three quarters, but was outscored 19-9 in the fourth.

Hayden Rose scored 23 points for Prairie (1-1), which returned to play after its previous two games were cancelled due to COVID.

CAMAS 68, IDA B. WELLS (Ore.) 65 — Carson Frawley scored 20 of his 24 points in the second half as the Papermakers rallied past the visitors from Portland.

Camas (4-0) trailed 59-54 after three quarters but held the Guardians to six points in the fourth quarter.

Stephen Behil added 14 points and Theo McMillan 13 points for Camas.

EVERGREEN 68, MILWAUKIE (Ore.) 59 — Juelz Mendoza scored 16 points in his first game of the season to lead the Plainsmen on the road.

Lenny Fierro added 14 points and Robert Lawrence 12 points for Evergreen (3-2). Sophomore Arthur Ban had nine points, eight rebounds and five blocks in his first varsity game.
