The Vancouver Volcanoes professional basketball team will play the first of 12 home games in the 2022 season on March 5.

The Volcanoes recently announced the schedule for their first season since going dormant in 2014. Vancouver is back under new ownership and as part of The Basketball League, which president Dave Magley described as the third tier of U.S. professional basketball below the NBA’s developmental G-League.

The Volcanoes will open their season March 4 on the road against new franchise in the Salem Capitals. The next night, Vancouver will host the Capitals at Clark College.

Vancouer will play 12 games at home and 12 on the road in a regular season that concludes May 29. All will be against five other teams in the TBL West Conference — Salem, Bakersfield Magic, California Sea Kings, SoCal Moguls and Temecula Eagles.

The Volcanoes have held two of three tryouts and will have a three-day training camp in mid February.
