A crash involving a bus and a car Thursday afternoon in downtown Vancouver shut down a portion of West Evergreen Boulevard for a time.

Police, firefighters and an ambulance were dispatched shortly after noon to 210 W. Evergreen Blvd. for a report of a wreck.

Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said call notes indicated a car was on the sidewalk, and the bus stalled in an intersection, either at Washington Street or Columbia Street.

It appears the bus was occupied by a driver and one rider, she said.

Information about the number of occupants in the car or whether anyone was injured was unavailable Thursday afternoon.

Evergreen Boulevard was blocked in the area for an investigation, Kapp said. Public Works crews were also called to the scene to address an oil spill.
