Letter: Unions take advantage of teachers

By Bill Hofmann, Vancouver

Most teachers should be proud of their profession. It takes lots of patience to teach the younger generation.

Having said that, it is a shame that the average teacher salary is less than $65,000 per year. Take a look at teachers union representatives’ salaries, with Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers, earnings and benefits in excess of $500,000.

Wake up teachers: you don’t need a union run by radical leftists who take advantage of you.
